Description
Kendrick Extrication Device (KED)
Offering superior immobilisation for patients with suspected spinal injuries, the semi-rigid brace secures the head, neck and thoracic and part of the lumbar region in an anatomically neutral position to reduce the possibility of additional injuries to these areas during extrication. Once secured in extrication, the patient's head is held in place by adjustable head and chin straps. Additional comfort is provided by an easily adjusted neck pad which helps fill gaps caused by the natural curvature of the spine.
The chest flaps fold back allowing the KED® to be used with heart monitoring equipment, pregnant patients and younger adolescents.
