Heliwinder is a system for the fire hose deployment from the helicopter, that allows to radically reduce the time and effort dedicated to these operations. Heliwinder is composed of a lightweight and sturdy supporting structure that, hanging from the helicopter, can load a winder with hoses up to 500 meters in length. The structure allows easy and safe release of the winder so that you can unload and load a new one to continue extending the line. The structure has a braking system so that the pilot has control of the deploying speed. At the outlet end it has a damping system for the fittings passage that join the hose sections and that maintains the position of the Heliwinder during the deployment.

Description

OPERATION First fit the electric brake frame part to any axle end and secure it with the safety pin. Then fit the other frame part on the opposite axle side and connect the upper part of the frame through an spring quick release pin. Once frame is fitted to the reel, deploy and extend the arm to its max travel position. Fire hose winding through the guide. Fit lifting slings for helicopter transport. HOW DOES IT WORKS? Connect the fire hose to the water pump to start de-winding with the helicopter to the desired area.
