BearsPaw-Separators for Fire Pump Protection

The BearsPaw  Separator is an innovative solution designed to protect suction pumps by instantly separating particulate matter, sand, and sediment from water at the source. This ensures that only clean water flows to your pump, significantly extending the life of your equipment and reducing maintenance requirements.

Advanced Protection for Pump

Suction Lines

Unlike traditional systems, the Bears Paw Separator requires no flotation or suspension. Its robust design allows it to rest directly on the bottom in gravel or sand, functioning at full capacity in as little as 200 mm of water. By separating debris at the source and returning it to the environment, it provides an eco-friendly and efficient filtration process.

Key Features:
  • Self-Stabilising Design: Engineered to operate sitting upright on its base at all times, providing stability in moving water.
  • Low-Water Operation: Efficiently draws water in depths as shallow as 20cm without drawing air.
  • Integrated 'Bio-Belt': Features a permanent stainless steel Bio-belt that filters biologics and particulates.
  • Pre-Assembled: Ready for immediate deployment and ease of installation.
  • Versatile Sizing: Available in multiple models to suit various flow requirements (see technical data).
Technical Specifications & Flow Rates:
Model Size LPM (Litres Per Min)
2.3 50 mm (2") 427
25.3 65 mm (2.5") 1200
25.4 75 mm (3") 1345
4.3 100 mm (4") 4546
6.1 125 mm (5") 4448 - 4637
6.3 150 mm (6") 5110 - 5867
Maintenance and Safety:

To maintain maximum flow and protect your warranty, the stainless steel Bio-belt must be cleaned and flushed with water or compressed air after every use.

Important Safety Note: One-way valves (foot valves) installed in Bears Paw Separators are designed for suction flow only and are strictly for use with Portable Pumps. Do not use foot-valve equipped units with Truck Pumps, as applying reverse load poses an explosion risk.
